At 24 years old, super-producer, composer, and sound designer Thomas JØREN Nielsen has already made great strides in the music industry. Fueled by his perseverance, adaptability, and plethora of skills, he is indeed a name to watch.
JØREN’s musical style is rooted in EDM, but he has continually created impacts across other areas of the music industry. He is the creative genius behind some of the most captivating Billboard hits and Hollywood movie scores. In addition, JØREN recently gained the co-writer and co-producer credit for hip-hop icon T.I.’s latest album, The L.I.B.R.A., which landed No. 9 on the US Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums.
The visionary has also produced sound design for Top 10 Billboard Artists. Lil Baby, Lil Durk, A Boogie With Da Hoodie, Iann Dior, Lil Tecca, Offset, Machine Gun Kelly, Travis Barker, Post Malone, and Young Thug, to name a few.
Furthermore, JØREN worked on the track entitled “Pantone Blue,” featuring Alec Beretz, where he collaborated with DJ Sidereal and T.I. himself. He is also recognized for his contributions as sound designer on the recently released track “How It Feels” by Lil Baby, Lil Durk for its official music video, which scored No. 3 on YouTube’s trending visions and maintained its viral position even after the release.
“I have had the pleasure of working in the professional music, audio, and post-production industries for the last several years of my life. It is a blessing to know that my work has reached the ears of millions and millions of people around the globe, whether they know it or not,” JØREN said.
Additionally, JØREN was also the composer of the first trailer of the Hulu Original series Only Murders in the Building. The series features Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. The trailer was released across several platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Hulu. The producer has also composed original scores for Paramount and Disney.
JØREN went on to explain that “sound is the last thing” that film producers, directors, editors, and artists tackle for a project. “A lot of times, it is the colorist or VFX team(s) that are last to finish the job, but mixing, sound effects, and music is right there with them to help bring the project to the finish line. You have to know exactly what to do and exactly how long it will take and understand how to ask the right questions to get the project done,” he explained.
Besides his thriving career in the film industry, JØREN has become an authority in the global scene through his original music compositions for international advertising campaigns. The producer and sound designer has worked with Google, Mattel, Vogue, and more.
“Every situation and project is unique; there is someone’s vision behind it which I believe is the coolest part of what I do—helping bring that vision alive and supporting it through the art of sound,” shared JØREN. “Whether it is mixing, producing, recording, writing, editing, scoring—whatever it is, I always over-deliver and ensure that the quality of work is nothing short of outstanding,” he added further.
In five years, JØREN aims to win a Grammy award for his compositions, create Billboard-worthy originals, and write more scores for major motion pictures. “I like to set my bar high and reach for things that seem like they could never happen, but you know what? It can happen. It is all about your mindset, work ethic, and your network of people,” he said.
