The performance, part of his JAY-Z 30 celebration, featured an introduction from Idris Elba referencing his 2007 American Gangster album, followed by a set spanning tracks including “Pray,” “Empire State of Mind,” “Hard Knock Life” and “99 Problems.”
The show included surprise appearances from DJ Khaled, Giggs, and Fugees members Ms. Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean, who performed “Ready or Not,” “Killing Me Softly” and “Fu-Gee-La.” Jay-Z paused the set to acknowledge his wife Beyoncé, who was in attendance celebrating her birthday, an moment marked by fireworks over the stadium.
