David Worby, an attorney and songwriter known for his advocacy work with Ground Zero rescue and recovery workers, has released “Hope” featuring The Bennett Hall Band, the first single from his upcoming collaborative EP Worby & Friends. The release also revealed the project’s full artist lineup, including Matt Wynn, Breaking Eight, Hunter Jordan, Ava Paige and Alyssa Trahan, each performing a different Worby-written track. A double-single follows Sept. 18, with the full EP due in October.
Worby, who has more than 25 cuts as a country songwriter, serves as songwriter and co-executive producer alongside Michael August, with Simon Reid producing. Trahan, who performs “Play You Again,” is also a frequent co-writer in Worby’s catalog. “Hope” was written by Worby, Trahan and Mark Narmore.
According to the announcement, Worby will donate $1 for each play of a song from the EP, up to a total of $100,000, split evenly between the Gary Sinise Foundation and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
