Fiddler Jim VanCleve, a founding member of Mountain Heart and The Appalachian Road Show, will be inducted into the National Fiddler Hall of Fame on October 4 during an Appalachian Road Show concert at the Appalachian Theatre of the High Country in Boone, North Carolina, according to the announcement.
VanCleve, a Grammy nominee raised in Western North Carolina, has performed and recorded with artists including Alison Krauss, Ricky Skaggs, Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton over a nearly three-decade career. He spent 17 years with Mountain Heart before co-founding The Appalachian Road Show in 2018, a group that has won IBMA Awards for New Artist of the Year and Instrumental Group of the Year, according to the announcement.
The induction comes as The Appalachian Road Show’s album Della Jane’s Heart is nominated for IBMA Album of the Year, with winners set to be announced October 22 at the IBMA Bluegrass Music Awards in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
