Gibson Custom has introduced the SJ-200 Elegant Koa and Hummingbird Elegant Koa, two new additions to its Artisan Series acoustic line finished in Honey Burst. Both models are handcrafted at Gibson Acoustic’s Bozeman, Montana facility and pair koa back and sides with AAA Sitka spruce tops, according to the company.
The SJ-200 Elegant Koa features a rosewood two-bar moustache bridge with abalone inlays, a mahogany neck, bound rosewood fretboard, and L.R. Baggs Anthem electronics. The Hummingbird Elegant Koa carries a rosewood belly-up bridge, the model’s traditional floral pickguard artwork with added gold and silver-foil detailing, and L.R. Baggs VTC electronics. Both guitars include a mahogany neck, TUSQ hardware, gold-plated Grover Rotomatic tuners, and a Gibson Custom hardshell case.
The instruments will be sold worldwide through authorized Gibson dealers, Gibson Garage locations in Nashville, London and Miami, and Gibson.com, the company said.
