Songwriter David Worby has released two new singles, “Living Large In A Small Town” performed by Breaking Eight and “Hard Hats” performed by Matt Wynn, continuing the rollout of his collaborative EP Worby & Friends ahead of its October release. The songs follow the Sept. 4 release of “Hope” featuring The Bennett Hall Band.”Living Large In A Small Town,” written by Worby with Amanda Martin and Zac Wrixon, is a lighthearted take on small-town life, while “Hard Hats,” written by Worby with Mark Narmore and Alyssa Trahan, explores the anxieties and responsibilities of fatherhood.
The EP pairs Worby’s songwriting with a range of artists including Hunter Jordan, Ava Paige and Alyssa Trahan, with Worby serving as songwriter and co-executive producer alongside Michael August. Simon Reid and Suzanne Worby produced the project.
According to the announcement, Worby will donate one dollar for each stream of a Worby & Friends track, up to a total of $100,000, split evenly between the Gary Sinise Foundation and Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Worby, an attorney known for his advocacy on behalf of Ground Zero rescue and recovery workers after the Sept. 11 attacks, has more than 25 country music cuts to his name; Worby & Friends is his first project released under his own creative direction.
