My Block Records, the label founded by gospel artist Erica Campbell, has filed suit against distributor SRG/ILS Group, alleging the company failed to provide a single royalty statement throughout their business relationship. The label is seeking damages exceeding $1 million, plus interest and legal fees.
My Block Records has demanded a jury trial in the case. The lawsuit adds to a growing list of royalty-accounting disputes between independent labels and their distribution partners.
