Julien’s Auctions will host a press preview event on October 7 in Nashville featuring Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen, ahead of an October 24 auction of items from his personal collection. The event, co-hosted with Scott Borchetta and Julian Raymond, will give media a look at highlights from the sale, including a custom 2004 Hamer “Five Neck” guitar that the auction house says is being offered publicly for the first time.
The Rick Nielsen Collection auction, spanning more than five decades of Cheap Trick history, will take place at the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum in Nashville. Items up for sale include stage-played guitars, wardrobe and awards from Nielsen’s career. According to the announcement, a portion of the proceeds will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
