Children in Conflict has named Rob Williams, a longtime leader at sister organization War Child UK, as Chief Executive Officer of its U.S. operation, headquartered in New York. Williams will work alongside Jodi Murphy, the organization’s Chief Operating Officer, and will draw on relationships he built with the music industry during his time at War Child UK.
As part of the expansion, Jim Benner will head a newly formed music team alongside Dawn Kamerling, tasked with building artist partnerships, live events and campaigns aimed at raising funds and awareness for children affected by war. According to the announcement, Benner plans to adapt the underplay concert series model he developed in the UK through BRITs Week, which the organization says has raised more than $15 million since 2015.
Mumford & Sons’ Ben Lovett, a War Child Alliance ambassador, endorsed the move in a statement included with the announcement. The broader rollout of the U.S. music initiative is expected to begin in 2027, with New York serving as the starting point for what the organization describes as a national platform.
