Melodic punk artist Caitlin Starr has released her sophomore EP, “Speed Saves,” via G-Foil Records. The New York City singer-songwriter, a classically trained jazz pianist, wrote the project around themes of exhaustion and the pressure to keep pace with modern life, blending piano-based songwriting with punk instrumentation.

The EP’s centerpiece, “Piece of Clay,” is accompanied by a music video that casts Starr as a character controlled by an outside force in a survival-horror setting. The clip, directed by Villacortabuer, was filmed at the former Letchworth Village children’s asylum in upstate New York; Starr says the production addresses her experiences with eating disorders and bipolar disorder. Chris Cubeta produced the EP, with Carmen Castillo on bass and Zach Jones on drums, and Lucy Coykendall drumming on the track “Will u b My Girlfriend.”

Starr will celebrate the release with a show on October 16 at Substance Skatepark in Brooklyn, performing material from “Speed Saves” alongside songs from her 2025 release “Hold On Tight.” She will be joined by BOYSCOUTMARIE, Adult Human Females and an unannounced third act.
