Tulsa officials unveiled Jim Halsey Way on Oct. 15, an honorary street designation on West Easton Street between Cain’s Ballroom and the OKPOP Museum, honoring the longtime music manager and booking agent. The ceremony took place inside OKPOP Museum and included members of the Oak Ridge Boys, whom Halsey has managed for more than 50 years, along with the Jim Halsey Street Naming Committee and other music industry figures.

Halsey founded the Jim Halsey Company in Independence, Kansas, in 1951 with Hank Thompson as his first client, later relocating operations to Tulsa in 1971. Over his career he has managed or booked artists including Roy Clark, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Reba McEntire, Tammy Wynette, The Judds and Minnie Pearl, and he organized a 1976 tour of the Soviet Union featuring the Oak Ridge Boys and Roy Clark as part of a U.S. State Department cultural exchange program.

Oak Ridge Boys members Duane Allen and William Lee Golden spoke at the event, crediting Halsey with securing the group’s first recording contract and managing their career since. Halsey’s honors include induction into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame and the International Entertainment Buyers Association Hall of Fame, as well as the Country Music Association’s Touring Lifetime Achievement Award, presented in June 2026.
