Ticketmaster has hired a new slate of technology and product executives as part of what the company describes as an expanded investment in engineering, data science and artificial intelligence. Jim Freeman, a former Amazon vice president who helped build Prime Video and later led engineering and product at Zalando, joins as chief technology officer, overseeing global engineering, platform modernization and AI transformation.
Rachel Smith, previously a data science leader at Block overseeing more than 120 data scientists across Square, Cash App and TIDAL, becomes Ticketmaster’s first SVP of Data Science & Machine Learning, tasked with building a dedicated data science unit focused on fraud detection, bot mitigation and fan experience. Chuck Mortimore, whose background includes product leadership roles at Disney, Stripe, Visa and Salesforce, joins as SVP of Product to lead strategy around identity, access and account security.
Ticketmaster also says it has brought on AI startup Ragie.ai to support its AI infrastructure and help develop new AI-powered tools. The company frames the hires as part of a broader effort to manage demand spikes, counter bot attacks and scale its platform for artists, venues and event organizers.
