Singer Wade Cota, an “American Idol” Top 5 finalist, is releasing an original song and accompanying music video titled “Last Alarm,” premiering November 16. The project tells the story of Captain Scott Leatham, a firefighter who died, and was directed by Emmy-winning filmmaker Patrick Gramm of Red Volcanic Film Company.
According to the announcement, Gramm filmed Leatham during his final months, including time with his family and fellow firefighters, as part of the documentary-style video. The release notes that Cota wrote the song using Leatham’s own guitar and played that same instrument in the video.
The video is being presented as a cinematic, documentary-driven tribute rather than a standard music video release.
