Brooklyn duo Trinket has signed to Take Care Records and released “If Not Soon Then Now,” its first new music in more than two years. The single, paired with an official music video, pairs the band’s established jangle-pop melodies with heavier guitar textures. The project is led by Madison Kate Proffitt and Sean Camargo, who also play in Lightheaded, Betty Brite and S.C.A.B., respectively.

According to the band, the song addresses the excitement and insecurity of starting a new relationship, including the fear that old anxieties can undermine something new. Trinket released its debut EP, New Hobby, in early 2024 via Sad Club Records and has previously shared bills with acts including Heavenly and the Pains of Being Pure at Heart. The band says a debut album is planned for 2027.

Trinket plays a headlining show at Sultan Room Rooftop in Brooklyn on October 28, followed by a supporting slot for label mates Starcleaner Reunion at TV Eye in Ridgewood, New York, on November 7.
