Montreal-based blues and gospel singer Hagiel, also known as Analoga, has released her debut EP “I Am Enough of a Woman,” led by the single “Fight for Your Life.” The six-song project blends blues, rock and gospel influences with the artist’s Caribbean and African roots, and draws on her experience singing with Montreal’s People’s Gospel Choir.

According to the announcement, “Fight for Your Life,” cowritten and produced by Mark Zubek, was written during a period of hospitalization and personal struggle. The title track dates back to 2003 and the end of a toxic relationship, while other songs on the EP, including “Survivors” and “Praise Your Way Out,” have placed in songwriting competitions including the 2024 Unsigned Only competition, the 2020 International Songwriting Competition and the 2023 Music in Motion Canada Awards, the label says.

Hagiel has performed professionally since 2009. Zubek, who produced the lead single, has previously worked with Betty Carter and Crash Test Dummies, according to the announcement.
