BandLab has released an updated instrument transcription model for its Audio-to-MIDI feature in BandLab Studio, aimed at improving accuracy for instruments that are traditionally difficult to convert, including synth pads and double bass. In internal testing cited by the company, synth pad transcription accuracy rose to 92% and double bass accuracy reached 89%.
The update is built on Harmonica, a family of music transcription models developed by BandLab’s research team. The company says Harmonica outperformed 11 competing models across seven benchmark datasets in published testing.
Audio-to-MIDI is available to BandLab Pro and Max subscribers on the platform, which BandLab describes as the world’s largest social music creation service.
