SeatGeek has appointed Sara Providence to the newly created role of Chief Business Officer, the company announced. Providence will oversee company strategy, business development and corporate communications, with a mandate to identify growth opportunities both within ticketing and in businesses adjacent to live entertainment.

The hire comes as SeatGeek expands its use of artificial intelligence across its marketplace. The company points to its conversational search tool Ask SeatGeek, launched in August, and TourIQ, a predictive pricing tool for promoters and venues launched in October, as part of that push. SeatGeek also says traffic to its platform from large language models has more than doubled since the start of the year.

Providence joined SeatGeek in 2023 as Chief of Staff before being promoted to Vice President, working with the CEO and executive team on corporate development and planning. She previously worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, focusing on growth strategy for technology and consumer companies. She holds degrees from Harvard, Columbia Law School and Columbia Business School.
