Guy Moot, Chair and CEO of Warner Chappell Music, will become the first music publisher to receive the UK’s Music Industry Trusts Award in its 34-year history. The ceremony takes place Monday, November 9, at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.
The MITS Award has historically gone to executives from the recorded music and live sectors, making Moot’s recognition a notable shift in acknowledgment for the publishing side of the business. Ahead of the honor, Moot discussed his approach to A&R and catalog strategy, his work with acts including My Chemical Romance, and his views on the role of performing rights organizations.
