DJ Khaled is the one for Nickelodeon. The DJ, artist, and record producer is set in order to host the 2019 Kids’ Choice Awards, which will transmit live on Saturday, March 23.
Khaled — who last year was selected for Favorite Male Designer and Favorite Song with regard to “I’m the One” featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne — this season is up for three orange blimps and in store for plenty of green slime.
While he’s simply no stranger to the KCAs, fatherhood no doubt helped motivate the particular artist to take on the web hosting role. He references their son Asahd in his recognized announcement video, which you can look below.
Selections will be announced this afternoon (Feb. 26) by Dual Dare sponsor Liza Koshy via a first-time KCAs livestream across Nickelodeon’s YouTube, Instagram, Fb and Twitter handles plus channels.
Billboard also got an earlier peek at several songs categories including Favorite Large Artist, for which Billie Eilish, Cardi B, Dan + Shay, Juice WRLD, Kane Brown and Post Malone are in the running.
Favorite Music Group opportunities are the Chainsmokers, Fall Out Youngster, Imagine Dragons, Maroon five, Migos, Twenty One Pilots, whilst Bruno Mars, DJ Khaled, Drake, Justin Timberlake, Henry Bryan and Shawn Mendes are competing for Preferred Male Artist.
The Favorite Collaboration category includes “Girls Like You” (Maroon 5, featuring Cardi B); “Happier” (Marshmello, featuring Bastille); “I love It” (Cardi B, offering Bad Bunny, J Balvin); “Meant to Be” (Bebe Rexha, featuring Florida Atlanta Line); “No Brainer” (DJ Khaled, featuring Bieber, Chance the Rapper, Quavo); and “Sicko Mode” (Travis Scott, featuring Drake).
Continuing the trend in recent years, the KCAs continue to expand fan-voted groups. New for 2019 are usually Favorite TV Host, Preferred TV Judges, Favorite Super-hero and Favorite Gamer. Children also will vote on how they wish to better the world in the brand new category How Do You Want to Assist?
