Nashville-based singer-songwriter James Bruner has released his debut album, Can’t Keep Wanting You. The record draws on influences including Lenny Kravitz, Palaye Royale, Jet and Prince, and includes the title track produced by Shane Weisman along with songs such as “Wish I Could Stay,” “OMG” and “Hypnotized.”
The album follows Bruner’s 2023 solo debut and his EP The Otherside, whose tracks “Big Shot” and “Switchblade” received airplay from Planet Rock Radio and coverage from Classic Rock; according to the announcement, “Big Shot” has surpassed half a million Spotify streams. Bruner has toured the U.S., U.K. and Europe, including supporting slots with Orianthi, Barns Courtney, The Struts, Those Damn Crows, Yonaka and William Fitzsimmons, and performances at venues including London’s Roundhouse and Paris’s Bataclan.
