British-American trio Raynes has released “Pure Blue,” the third and final single from their debut album Radio Remind Me, due out October 16. The song was produced by Mat Charley and co-produced by Chris Sclafani, an engineer whose credits include Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande and The Weeknd, and features accordion, bouzouki and mandolin. The accompanying music video was shot in Bismarck, North Dakota, by Ryan Cory, who has worked with Pearl Jam and Sleater-Kinney.
The band says the track reframes the perspective of The Beach Boys’ “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” examining whether adulthood lives up to childhood expectations. It follows the single “Roses All Over,” which the band says debuted in the top 40 of Billboard’s Adult Pop Airplay chart and ranked as the fourth most-added song at Hot AC radio.
Raynes, signed to Sony Music Publishing, formed after North Dakota natives Mat Charley and Joe Berger connected with UK singer Mark Race over social media. The group is currently touring North America, with dates continuing into the UK and Europe through late November.
