Composer Daniele Luppi has released “Anxiety,” a new single featuring Orion Sun, the second preview track from his forthcoming album Wilma. The record, described as an exploration of 1970s Italian film music, arrives October 9 via Verve/slowplay.
“Anxiety” follows the earlier single “To Some Degree,” which features Michael Kiwanuka. Wilma’s 10-track lineup includes additional appearances from both Kiwanuka and Orion Sun, alongside a series of instrumental interludes titled “Reverie.” Luppi said Orion Sun’s vocal style carries an intimate, warm quality that he wanted to feature on the track.
Luppi, an Emmy-nominated composer known for a trilogy of albums exploring Italian musical styles across different decades, has previously collaborated with artists including Jack White, Danger Mouse, Norah Jones and Karen O. Orion Sun, also based in Los Angeles, has built a following in contemporary R&B, with catalog streaming totals the singer’s team says exceed 625 million.
