Asheville, North Carolina singer-songwriter Andrew Scotchie has released a new single, “Just Dream,” now available on streaming platforms. The track incorporates audio samples from protests in Minneapolis and addresses the current state of the country, according to the announcement.
The accompanying music video was directed by Callum Scott-Dyson, a filmmaker and animator whose production company, CSD Animation, has produced animated music videos for Dinosaur Jr., Paul Cauthen and Milky Chance.
“Just Dream” is the third single from Scotchie’s forthcoming album, due in 2027, following earlier releases “If I Was A Bird” and “In Your Light.” The label describes the album as exploring personal and social themes shaped in part by the COVID-19 pandemic and Hurricane Helene’s impact on Western North Carolina. Scotchie, who founded the Barnaroo music festival at age 16 to benefit the Asheville Music School, has built a following in the Southeast through years of touring.
