Metallica and the American Red Cross are hosting a three-day blood drive at Mohegan Sun ahead of the band’s concerts there celebrating the venue’s 25th anniversary. Donors can book appointments for Nov. 18 or Nov. 20-21 at the Uncas Ballroom, with donors of all blood types welcome, though the Red Cross says type O donors are especially needed. Those who donate will receive an exclusive Red Cross x Metallica T-shirt designed by Squindo while supplies last.

The partnership builds on a campaign that began in April 2025 during the U.S. leg of Metallica’s M72 Tour and expanded into the band’s Give Where You Live initiative. According to the Red Cross, the collaboration has collected more than 25,000 blood donations in the U.S. and roughly 93,000 worldwide, including drives held at international tour stops.

Mohegan Sun president and general manager Jeff Hamilton and American Red Cross Connecticut and Rhode Island Region CEO Richard Branigan both highlighted the drive as a way to pair fan enthusiasm for the upcoming shows with a charitable cause during a period when blood donations typically decline.
