Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS) has announced additional speakers and session topics for its 2027 conference, set to run January 13-16 in Groningen alongside the Eurosonic and Noorderslag showcase festivals. New participants include Universal Music Group’s Robbert Baruch, Spotify’s Ben Patashnik, SoundCloud’s Ree Seewell, European Commissioner Glenn Micallef and music-tech executive Scott Cohen, among others.
Programming announced includes a session with Baruch and KLAY co-founder Thomas Hesse examining a new AI-related model for artists, moderated by Mandy Salem-Aubry of MSA Music Services. Separate panels curated by Turo Pekari of MusicTech Europe will address trust issues tied to AI-generated music, synthetic artists, voice cloning and streaming fraud, as well as where future investment in music technology and catalogues may be concentrated.
Spotify’s Patashnik is scheduled to give a keynote on the platform’s editorial curation strategy, while SoundCloud’s Seewell will lead a workshop on turning uploads into sustainable careers using the platform’s audience data. Other sessions will focus on fan-data analytics and artist discovery, featuring speakers from companies including Cultive, Get Moments, toniq, Sonorous Global and Gotobeat.
