Music Tectonics has named Resolut, a platform for automating royalty conflict resolution, winner of the Jury Award at its annual Swimming With Narwhals startup competition. Visuals.fm, a tool that generates visuals and videos for music, took the Audience Choice award, voted on by conference attendees.
Finalists pitched to a judging panel that included Andrew Kahn of Yamaha Music Innovation Fund, Ishan Sachdev of Deciens Capital, and Joe Tou of Triptyq Capital. Other finalists in this year’s competition were EquitX, which focuses on ticket pricing for high-demand events, and Cadence IO, a data management tool for release delivery and tracking.
The competition was part of the eighth annual Music Tectonics conference, themed around industry-wide growth from music technology. According to organizers, this year’s event drew the largest attendance in the conference’s history and included a fireside chat with Hipgnosis Artist Partnerships founder Merck Mercuriadis.
