Edmonton pop artist Laura Ulmer has released a new single, “Trustworthy,” written and produced with Conor Wharton at Resonate Music School & Studio. According to the announcement, the song began with a single word that stuck with Ulmer after a friend let her down, and evolved during writing sessions into an uptempo track about romantic pursuit and withholding trust until it is earned.
The single features a production shift from Ulmer’s last album, built around a synth bell melody, bass and trap-style drums, with a revving car engine sound effect worked into the chorus drop, the announcement says. The track was reportedly written, recorded and mastered within a few weeks.
“Trustworthy” arrives roughly a year after Ulmer’s most recent album, ‘Pink Wings,’ released October 10, 2025, following a release show in Edmonton. Ulmer, who is visually impaired and has been active as an artist since 2018, has released five albums to date and has performed at Edmonton events including Glow Edmonton, Taste of Edmonton and Strathearn Art Walk.
