Octave Records has released “Goodnight Moon,” a new album from husband-and-wife acoustic duo Acoustic Eidolon. The 11-track collection features eight original compositions alongside covers of Sting’s “Fields of Gold,” Don McLean’s “Vincent” and Jay Ungar’s “Ashokan Farewell.”

The duo, Joe Scott and Hannah Alkire, have performed together for 28 years. Scott plays acoustic guitar, synth guitar and the guitjo, a dual-neck instrument combining guitar and banjo elements, while Alkire plays cello. The album was recorded, mixed and produced by Callum Bair at Octave Studios in Boulder, Colorado, using the label’s Pyramix Pure DSD system, with Paul McGowan serving as executive producer and Gus Skinas handling mastering.

“Goodnight Moon” is being released as a hybrid SACD with a gold disc formulation playable on standard CD, DVD, Blu-ray and SACD players, and includes a high-resolution DSD layer. Master DSD and PCM files are also available for purchase in multiple formats, with a suggested retail price of $29.
