Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) has concluded its 30th-anniversary edition and confirmed that ADE 2027 will run October 20-24. The five-day electronic music conference and festival, which began in 1996, featured nearly 4,000 performing artists across more than 300 venues this year, according to the organisers.

Programming highlights included a Gashouder performance of “Swan Lake Remixed for ADE” with the Dutch National Ballet and ISH Dance Collective, which the organisers say sold out, along with a Melkweg collaboration between Kybba and the Metropole Orkest, and multidisciplinary artist Boris Acket’s EINDER project with the Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest at Centrale Markthal. Jean-Michel Jarre served as the event’s official Guest of Honour, taking part in a discussion on AI and spatial sound and performing an audiovisual live set at AFAS Live.

ADE also expanded its ADE Lab initiative into two tracks aimed at industry development, and partnered with VibeLab to launch the Nighttime Culture Index, a new report assessing nighttime culture activity based on data from more than 12,000 event lineups and 3,000 venues worldwide. The organisers say further initiatives marking ADE’s 30th anniversary will be announced in the coming months.
