Ana Cristina Cash will release her new single “The Harpeth River,” featuring Alison Krauss and Marty Stuart, on Nov. 6. The song was co-written by Ana Cristina and her husband John Carter Cash, who also produced the track.
According to the announcement, the song was written as a tribute to the late Loretta Lynn, exploring themes of friendship, grief and memory, with the Harpeth River serving as a central image connecting the songwriters to Lynn’s home in Hurricane Mills. Marty Stuart is quoted calling the recording “a beautiful song” and saying it was a privilege to play on it.
The release coincides with a partnership between Ana Cristina Cash and Tennessee Riverkeeper aimed at raising awareness about river conservation. Cash, who signed with Sony Music Latin at 15 and has a global publishing deal with BMG Rights Management, has performed at the Grand Ole Opry and other major venues and has recorded much of her recent music at the Cash Cabin studio in Nashville.
