Chicago rock band Ax and the Hatchetmen have released a new five-track EP, “Stick & Poke,” produced by Jake Sinclair. The project includes previously released singles “Loser,” “Stick & Poke” and “Funny Valentine,” alongside two additional tracks, “Prius” and “Dance to Different Songs.”
The EP follows the band’s 2025 debut album “So Much to Tell You,” whose track “Hotel Room” has drawn more than 56 million streams globally, according to the band’s label. The group also completed a summer run of headline U.S. dates that included sold-out shows, according to the announcement, along with a supporting stint for Australian act Royel Otis.
Ax and the Hatchetmen will open for The Revivalists at Red Rocks Amphitheatre before launching their own headline trek, “The Late Check Out Tour,” on Oct. 14 in Indianapolis. The tour runs through Dec. 13 in Miami, with stops including New York’s Irving Plaza and Chicago’s Riviera Theatre; several dates, including Phoenix, San Diego and Lakewood, Ohio, are already sold out according to the band.
