Rising performer-artist Swagger Splash, now known as August Summers continues to make a buzz in the entertainment scene with his ongoing independent tour and the recent release of his single entitled, “Miss Dj.”
He has so far kept the audience coming since his last DJ-released single in 2019 that peaked at the #9 spot on the DUC German Charts. August has brought independent rap music in music arenas with a solid expanding fan base and gaining popularity from performances in commissioned events.
He was formerly known as Swagger Splash, but due to an accident, he decided to change his artist name to August Summers. This decision came when just a couple of months ago, he met an unfortunate vehicle crash. He was then on tour in the Philippines when the scooter he was riding was hit by two big trucks. The mishap resulted in four broken ribs, hematoma in his lungs, and a skull fracture. It was life-changing, something he saw as a new beginning for him that mandates a change of name.
Rapper August Summers was born in the rich musical state of Louisiana. During the early stages of his career, he has gained a wide array of exposure. However, his succeeding efforts did not produce the desired initial results in his chosen path. Unfazed and decided not to give up, August traveled abroad, determined to widen his fan base independently. Finally, upon relocating to Panama City, Florida, the spring break capital of the world, August Summer proceeded on his career. He continued to perform and promote extensively throughout northern Florida and its surrounding areas.
Some of the events he appears at are high school shows, college parties, corporate functions, and famous night clubs. August feels that his sound attracts high school and college scenes and this demographic too. With his high-paced rap music, only those who want to party-til-they-drop will get in the zone for these beats. He has an intense energy that really encourages interactive dancing. With his unique vocals, he would mostly record mainstream pop hip-hop music fit for all clubbing enthusiasts.
As an artist, August is a cut from the rest through his adaptable personality. He can transition in any setting he performs. “If I’m doing an urban club, I will perform my urban music. If I’m doing a pop club, I will perform pop hits. I’m very versatile,” he shared. He is accomodating to fans and followers, sharing that he’s even willing to move around and stay after the show just to take pictures with them. As he transitioned to a new name, August values and appreciates his fans more, saying that he wouldn’t be where he is now without them.
After his life-changing accident, August sees his career geared towards making more music related to his personal life. He admits that his swag can sometimes be out of this world fashion. Sometimes, being more genuine to one’s self, such as dressing yourself, is the best way to impress.
