Canadian children’s musician Chris McKhool has released “On Halloween,” a new single depicting cats, witches, pumpkins and trick-or-treaters, as the third track from his forthcoming album “Global Dance Party!,” out October 30. The song features guitarist Kevin Laliberté, fiddle and theremin player Saskia Tomkins, bassist Drew Birston and a horn section, and was mixed in Dolby Atmos by engineer John “Beetle” Bailey.
McKhool will mark the album’s release with a Halloween concert and CD release party on October 30 at Kingston Road United Church in Toronto, part of the Kingston Road Village Concert Series, featuring a costume contest and pizza ahead of the show. He has additional dates booked for November 29 in Canmore, Alberta, and December 13 in Mississauga, Ontario.
McKhool has worked in children’s and family music for more than three decades, according to the announcement, and has received a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal and multiple Canadian Folk Music Awards. He is a two-time JUNO Award nominee, including a 2026 nomination for Children’s Album of the Year.
