Create Music Group has acquired a minority stake in DistroKid, according to Music Business Worldwide, with the investment made earlier this year. The deal links two of the largest independent players in music distribution and rights administration.
Create’s backers, private equity firms Flexpoint Ford and Ares, supported the investment. Terms of the transaction, including the size of the stake, were not disclosed.
