David Worby, an attorney and songwriter behind the collaborative music project Worby & Friends, has surpassed his self-set goal of 100,000 qualifying streams, triggering a $100,000 donation split evenly between the Tunnel to Towers Foundation and the Gary Sinise Foundation, according to the announcement. Worby had pledged to personally donate $1 per qualifying stream, up to $100,000, in support of veterans, first responders and their families.
The milestone coincides with the release of two new singles, “What’s One More” featuring Hunter Jordan and “Your Love Goes On” featuring Ava Paige, both out Nov. 4 and produced by Simon Reid. The tracks follow the project’s four-song EP, which included collaborations with The Bennett Hall Band, Breaking Eight, Matt Wynn and Alyssa Trahan.
Worby, known for representing Ground Zero rescue and recovery workers after the Sept. 11 attacks, has more than 25 country music cuts to his name as a songwriter. Worby, Suzanne Worby and Michael August are executive producers on the new singles, which were written in collaboration with several Nashville songwriters.
