New York artist Fish Hunt, the project of Lucy Mondello, released her third album, Life, on VHS Records. The record features contributions from Tex Patrello, Melaina Kol, Boone Patrello of Teethe, Joe Taurone of Bruiser and Bicycle, and Dan Poppa of People I Love.
The album was recorded at VHS Studios in Brooklyn and follows singles “Life” and “Monkey See Monkey Do,” the latter described as her first fingerpicking song. According to the announcement, the record builds on Mondello’s earlier, more sparse songwriting by incorporating a wider range of collaborators and blending live instrumentation with sample loops.
Fish Hunt will play a run of New York shows in November, including dates at Baby’s All Right and Le Poisson Rouge, supporting Laveda and Weatherday. VHS Records is an independent label founded in 2024 by producer Reed Black, operating out of the Vinegar Hill Sound studio in Brooklyn.
