It’ s almost a trope at this point like the Guns N’ Roses Chinese Democracy thing that the new album from Tool is “ almost done” or “ coming soon” or “ mostly finished” and frankly we’re all a bit tired of covering a reveal like this in such a slow prodding fashion, but this weekend the drummer Danny Carey may have let the cat out of the bag just a little farther.
In this video below, you can hear a fan chatting him up about drum stuff at the NAMM show before Carey mentions that the new album is due out in April. “ That’ s the plan” …
The guy in the video immediately realizes the journalistic grab he just got and turns to the camera saying “ Uh oh new news about Tool ”. Let’ s hope it actually happens this year.
