Luminate has introduced a framework for identifying AI-generated music, with plans to add “AI Generated” labels to its CONNECT platform later this year. The data and analytics provider says the system will be able to flag AI-made songs and artists across its global tracking service.
The move addresses growing industry pressure to distinguish human-created recordings from AI output as synthetic music proliferates on streaming platforms. Labels, distributors and rights holders increasingly rely on Luminate’s data for chart certification and market analysis, making the new tagging system a potential reference point for how the industry classifies AI content going forward.
