Mike D has released a video for “Secrets Pts. I & II,” a track from his debut solo album Thank You, out since August 28 via Capitol Records. The video was directed by Ari Marcopoulos, a longtime friend and collaborator who previously photographed Beastie Boys during the Check Your Head and Ill Communication era, and incorporates live footage from a recent Mike D 5D show at New York’s Knockdown Center, which the announcement describes as sold out.
Mike D credited Marcopoulos with becoming part of his creative circle over the years and praised his dedication to self-publishing and releasing work. Further reflections from Mike D on the making of the video were shared in a post on his Substack.
The Mike D 5D Thank You tour resumes October 16 in Chicago and continues through the Northeast before heading to the UK and Europe, wrapping up November 5 in Brussels. Several dates, including stops in Philadelphia, Brighton, Glasgow, Manchester, London and Amsterdam, are listed as sold out, according to the announcement.
