Several Manhole Fires Lead to Explosion at New World Stages within NYC

Saturday evening of (Feb. 16) shows on New World Stages in Nyc were evacuated and have already been canceled due to multiple manhole fires on the theater’s Western 50th Street block. Everybody who was at the theater  is secure, a representative for New World Levels confirms to Billboard .

“All patrons, casts, deck hands and staff were evacuated as a precaution and shows were then cancelled. Fortunately, no one was hurt, inch the rep writes.

At 8: fifty two p. m. local period, the FDNY’s official notify system upon Twitter wrote, “MAN 7-5 311 W 50 SAINT, MULTIPLE MANHOLE FIRES. inch

Video footage from your scene posted on social networking shows the blaze from a manhole simply outside New World Stages, situated at 340 West 50th  Street, where several  shows were scheduled to take place on the off-Broadway complex.

One attendee posted upon Facebook : “As i was entering the building, there was a huge boom. No idea what it has been, but they kept letting individuals in. Right when the display was supposed to start, they will announced they had to expels the theater. So right now we’ re outside with all the other 4 shows that are usually performed in the same movie theater, ” later updating, “All shows in the building terminated. ”
