The Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) has appointed six new members to its board, including DJs Judge Jules and Graeme Park, Black Lives in Music CEO Dr Charisse Beaumont, urban researcher Simone D’Antonio, Belfast City Centre Night Czar Michael Stewart, and International Professional Security Association CEO Satia Rai.
According to the organization, the appointments are intended to broaden the board’s expertise across music, equality, law, security and city policy as the night-time economy faces rising costs and regulatory pressure. NTIA chair Sacha Lord said the new members each bring a different perspective and a record of achievement, while CEO Michael Kill said the additions strengthen the group’s platform for engaging with government and industry on behalf of the sector.
Beaumont said she plans to draw on research from Black Lives in Music’s REMEL report to address disparities in how licensing and regulation affect different communities. Judge Jules, a former BBC Radio 1 broadcaster now working as a music lawyer, said his dual background in DJing and law would inform his contributions to the board.
