INTERCONTINEN7AL, the multinational rock project that describes itself as the first band to record music across all seven continents, has released an acoustic remix of “Lighthouses,” a track originally featured on its 2022 record “Volume 3.” The reworked version replaces the original’s electronic bass line with a slide Drop D acoustic guitar riff, softens the drum programming, and adds a new bass part from Poland-based collaborator Marcin Nawrocki, according to the band.

Bandleader Matt Smith began reworking the song in October 2023 after writing the original in 2021 as a minor-key duet about a fading relationship, with vocals contributed by bandmate Becca Drayer. The project grew out of remote sessions among members of the Maryland band Toast during the pandemic and has since expanded to more than 30 musicians across 15 countries, using BandLab’s collaborative tools to record parts from every continent, including two researchers stationed in Antarctica.

The band says it donates all streaming revenue to humanitarian organizations including Stand Up 2 Cancer, Oxfam and Doctors Without Borders. INTERCONTINEN7AL has no touring plans given its remote, continent-spanning structure.

MARIS has released her new EP MOSH★PIT, accompanied by an official music video for the focus track “Nothing To Do (nananananana).” The project was co-produced with Dylan Bauld and, according to the announcement, showcases the artist’s diaristic songwriting alongside high-energy pop production.

The release coincides with the announcement of MOSH★PIT: The Tour, a North American headline run that opens October 1 in Portland, Oregon, and wraps November 14 in Los Angeles. Several other artists also issued new music this week through the same distributor, including Rita Wilson’s deluxe edition of “Sound of a Woman,” Matt Lang’s single “Wiggle Pow” ahead of his fourth album, and new tracks from Emily Roman, Davina Azzi and the duo Somewhere In Between.

Beck released his new album, Ride Lonesome, on Capitol Records on September 18. The album was produced by Beck and mixed by Nigel Godrich, and reunites musicians who worked with him on Sea Change, Morning Phase and Mutations, including Smokey Hormel, Joey Waronker, Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Roger Joseph Manning Jr. and Jason Falkner, recorded at United Studios in Hollywood.

The release is accompanied by a video for the album’s second track, “Run Away,” directed by Mikai Karl and starring actor Tadanobu Asano, set against a Tokyo backdrop. According to the announcement, early reviews from outlets including the Guardian, Mojo, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times have praised the record.

Beck begins the Ride Lonesome tour on September 22 at the Santa Barbara Bowl, with dates through November 10 at Portland’s Keller Auditorium. The itinerary includes two-night stands at San Francisco’s The Masonic, Toronto’s Massey Hall and Brooklyn Paramount, along with stops at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Several dates, including shows in Minneapolis, Brooklyn and Asheville, are listed as sold out, and three West Coast dates were rescheduled from earlier September dates.

Gnarls Barkley, the duo of CeeLo Green and Danger Mouse, have announced their 2026 “To Whom It Still Concerns” tour, a nine-city North American run and their first tour in 18 years. Promoted by Live Nation, the trek opens November 5 at The Masonic in San Francisco and closes November 28 at the House of Blues in Chicago, with stops including Atlanta, Boston and Toronto.

The tour follows the release of “Atlanta,” which the duo describes as their third and final album and their first new project in 18 years. CeeLo Green said the tour explores themes of life and death, calling the songs “the silver lining to an otherwise sad story.”

Tickets go on general sale September 24 via Live Nation, preceded by Citi and Spotify presales beginning September 21 and an artist presale on September 23. Gnarls Barkley’s 2006 debut, “St. Elsewhere,” produced the hit “Crazy,” which topped charts internationally; their second album, “The Odd Couple,” followed in 2008.

Metallica and the American Red Cross are opening a blood donation pop-up in Las Vegas on Sept. 28, timed to the band’s upcoming residency, according to the announcement. The site, sponsored by Delta Air Lines, will run at Fashion Show Las Vegas through March 19, 2027, and offer donors a backstage-style experience, including a chance to sit at a replica of drummer Lars Ulrich’s kit and enter a drawing to win a TAMA-built kit modeled on the one used during the WorldWired Tour.

Donors will also receive a limited-edition T-shirt designed by Squindo while supplies last, and can visit a Delta-branded lounge after giving blood, per the release. The initiative builds on a partnership that began in April 2025 during the U.S. leg of Metallica’s M72 Tour, when the band and Red Cross held blood drives at select stops under the Give Where You Live campaign.

According to the companies, that earlier collaboration collected more than 25,000 donations in the U.S. and roughly 93,000 worldwide as the effort expanded to overseas tour dates. Metallica’s philanthropic arm, All Within My Hands, is also involved in organizing the new Vegas experience.

Singer-songwriter Alisan Porter has released her fifth studio album, PORTER, out now on streaming platforms. The ten-track project was recorded live at Chaplin Recording with longtime collaborator Drew McKeon and producer Sam Barsh, blending live instrumentation with electronic production elements.

According to the announcement, the album marks what Porter calls her “Perimenopop” era, with songs addressing motherhood, aging, reinvention and loss. The label describes the record as her most personal work to date, structured around themes the singer refers to as “The Ten Commandments of PORTER.”

The focus track, “Love Bomber,” arrives with an accompanying music video. Porter has released four previous studio albums over her career.

Pop singer-songwriter Thomas Day has announced a new EP, “my bad,” due October 9 on Arista Records. He also released the project’s first single, “human nature,” along with an accompanying video.

According to the announcement, the five-song EP explores the vulnerability of early adulthood and young love, and was written almost entirely by Day himself. The label describes it as a creative turning point in which the artist leaned into his own instincts rather than external expectations. Day said the new single reflects “a fear of losing something special with someone for something temporary.”

The release follows Day’s 2025 EP “kids,” whose single “she got a thing about her” has drawn more than 32 million Spotify streams, according to the announcement. Day previously toured as a headliner and in support of acts including Joshua Bassett, The Driver Era and Nessa Barrett. He is set to headline a show in Salt Lake City on October 8 and perform at Austin City Limits Music Festival on October 11.

Rising pop artist MARIS has released her new EP MOSH★PIT, along with a music video for focus track “Nothing To Do.” The project was produced with Dylan Bauld and, according to the announcement, has already surpassed 3 million Spotify streams.

MARIS will support the release with MOSH★PIT The Tour, a headline run across North America that opens October 1 at Portland’s Polaris Hall and closes November 14 at The Echo in Los Angeles. Several dates, including two shows at New York’s Mercury Lounge and stops in Charlotte, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Denver and Chicago, have sold out, according to the announcement.

The Los Angeles-based, Montana-born singer-songwriter has previously performed at Boston Calling and collaborated with Caroline Kingsbury on “Give Me A Sign,” which the label says was included on Spotify’s Best Pop Songs of 2025 list. She has also toured with acts including The Wrecks, Maude Latour, A R I Z O N A and Anna of the North.

Gorillaz began their Mountain Tour of North America on Sept. 17 in Orlando, produced by Live Nation, with 22 arena dates across the U.S. and Canada plus a headlining slot at Shaky Knees festival. The run includes a Madison Square Garden show on Sept. 29 that the promoter says is sold out, and wraps with a Halloween show in Seattle before the band continues on to South America and dates in India in January 2027.

Little Simz is supporting on most U.S. and Canadian dates, with Deltron 3030 appearing on all shows and Trueno joining select stops. The tour follows Gorillaz’s album “The Mountain,” released Feb. 27 on the band’s own KONG label, which the group says led to its first appearance on Saturday Night Live.

To coincide with the tour, Gorillaz is presenting a limited engagement of its House of Kong exhibition at the Agger Fish Building in Brooklyn, running through Sept. 28, ahead of the band’s Madison Square Garden date. The exhibition previously ran in Los Angeles last spring.
