Serato has released Serato DJ for iOS, a mobile version of its DJ software for iPhone and iPad, launching alongside the desktop update Serato DJ 5.0. The company says the app extends its DJ platform beyond laptops, aiming to give users a portable tool for practicing, preparing sets and performing.
According to Serato, the iOS app carries over core desktop features such as Stems, FX, DVS support, recording and performance controls, and adds new Serato DJ 5.0 features including Lucid Beatgrids, Open Streaming, Cue Loops and an iOS Transfer tool for moving tracks, crates and metadata between laptop and mobile. The app also supports more than 120 hardware devices from brands including AlphaTheta, Hercules, Numark, Pioneer DJ, Rane and Roland, and offers integrated streaming access to Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, SoundCloud and Beatport. Serato DJ for iOS is available now on the App Store.
The launch is accompanied by a marketing campaign called “DJ Everywhere,” featuring short films with DJs A-Trak, DJ Miss Milan, Nick Cheo and Magie Hue.
