Shakira launched her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour residency in Madrid on Sept. 18, playing to a crowd the promoter says exceeded 50,000 fans at the purpose-built Shakira Stadium. The 12-show run, produced by Live Nation Spain, is her only European engagement this year and takes place at a temporary venue designed by Bjarke Ingels Group within the Iberdrola Music complex.
The residency was originally set for three dates but expanded to 12 after what the promoter describes as extraordinary demand, with more than half a million tickets sold within hours of the initial onsale. Most dates are listed as sold out. The opening show drew on Shakira’s back catalog, including “Hips Don’t Lie,” “She Wolf” and “TQG,” alongside her single “Dai Dai” featuring Burna Boy, which the announcement says spent seven weeks at No. 2 globally and has passed 1 billion YouTube views.
The Madrid run coincides with a citywide cultural program, Es Latina, and a fan-experience area called Macondo Park featuring themed pavilions tied to Shakira’s music and career. The stadium engagement follows what Live Nation calls a record-breaking run for the tour since it began in February 2025, which the company says has become the highest-grossing tour by a Spanish-language artist. Shakira was also recently nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
