U.K. folk trio The Longest Johns will tour the United States in October and November in support of their new album “Ends of the Earth,” which is out now. The run kicks off Oct. 24 in Milwaukee and continues through cities including Chicago, Minneapolis, Nashville, New York and Washington, D.C., before wrapping in early November.
The Bristol-based band, formed in 2012 by Johnathan “JD” Darley, Andy Yates and Robbie Sattin, built a global following on maritime folk songs and sea shanties. Their cover of the traditional song “Wellerman” went viral on TikTok in 2021, helping spark the broader “ShantyTok” trend. According to the announcement, the group’s catalog now draws more than 628,000 monthly Spotify listeners and over 3.7 million monthly streams, with their 2024 fan-funded album “Voyage” surpassing 7 million streams.
“Ends of the Earth” features mostly original songwriting alongside guest instrumentation including flute, violin, trumpet and double bass. The band has also built a following through gaming and streaming, including an appearance at the 2025 Pokémon Europe International Championships and collaborations with The Yogscast’s Jingle Jam.
