Universal Music Group is now managing more than 130 artists across Southeast Asia, according to company executive Adam Granite. He shared the figure during a fireside chat at the Music Matters strand of the All That Matters conference in Singapore on October 5.
Granite’s comments point to UMG’s deepening investment in the region’s artist development pipeline, as major labels continue to expand local operations across fast-growing Asian music markets. He also addressed concerns about AI-generated content flooding the industry, signaling a push to prioritize genuine artistry over low-quality, mass-produced output.
