Winnipeg punk rock band The Bloodshots have released a new single and music video, “Scream!,” and are touring Canada through December 12 in support of it. The band is calling the trek the “Screamin’ Across Canada Tour,” with an October run alongside Australian rockers The Lazys on their own “Too Tough To Die Tour,” followed by additional dates across Ontario, the Prairies, British Columbia and Quebec.

According to the band, “Scream!” grew out of a warm-up riff frontman CJ Loane regularly played before shows, which evolved into a full song after audiences began reacting to it with synchronized fist pumping. The band recorded the track at a studio in rural Manitoba and says it kept the production raw to reflect the song’s live energy. The Bloodshots describe their style as “Nu Grunge Punk ‘n Roll,” citing comparisons to acts such as The Offspring, Nirvana, Rise Against and Green Day.

The band, led by Loane, who is from Sagkeeng Anicinabe First Nation in Manitoba, has previously shared stages with acts including Buckcherry, Steel Panther, Danko Jones and Slash. Their single “No Way Out” won Best Rock Video at the Indigenous Superstar Awards and the Native American Music Awards, and the band says they are set to receive a second SOCAN award after “Gettin’ Around” reached No. 1 on the Indigenous Music Countdown.
