Gibson has opened Gibson Garage Miami, a retail and experience space in the city’s Wynwood Art District, marking the guitar maker’s third such location after Nashville and London. The grand opening drew artists including Sergio Vallín of Maná, Grace Potter, Nico Bereciartua of The Black Crowes, Gian Marco, Luis Enrique and Ivan Singh, along with Gibson interim CEO Anne Rohosy and Miami Mayor Eileen Higgins.

The more than 8,000-square-foot space allows visitors to play upwards of 500 instruments spanning Gibson’s family of brands, including Epiphone, Kramer, MESA/Boogie and Maestro, according to the company. It also houses a Gibson Custom Made to Measure program where customers can work with staff to spec out a custom-built guitar, along with a dedicated acoustic guitar room and areas for Epiphone and Kramer products.

Gibson says the location will host a regular slate of live performances, artist showcases, album release events and community programming on an in-house stage, positioning the space as a cultural hub in addition to a retail store.
