Brandon Isaak Releases Eighth Album ‘Lookin’ Out My Window’ on Modern Primitive Records

Canadian blues artist Brandon Isaak has released his eighth solo album, ‘Lookin’ Out My Window,’ on Modern Primitive Records, alongside the single “World’s Got the Blues.” The record follows his 2025 album ‘Walkin’ With the Blues,’ which according to the announcement won three Canadian Blues Music Awards, including Electric Blues Album of the Year.

Isaak produced, engineered and mixed the new album himself at Modern Primitive Studios, with mastering by Marc L’Esperance at heavyOsonic Studios in Vancouver. He recorded with his backing band, The Saints of Swing, featuring Darryl Havers, Rob Becker, Chris Nordquist, Jerry Cook, Paul Wainwright, Marty Shepard and Nadine States. Cook, who co-wrote the album’s horn arrangements, was named Sax Player of the Year at the 2025 Canadian Blues Music Awards, according to the announcement.

Born in Whitehorse, Yukon and now based in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, Isaak has spent 39 years touring internationally, including 13 European tours across three continents, and has received three JUNO Award nominations. His catalogue includes ‘Bluesman’s Plea,’ ‘Here on Earth,’ ‘Big City, Back Country Blues,’ ‘Rise n’ Shine,’ ‘Modern Primitive,’ ‘One Step Closer’ and ‘Walkin’ With the Blues.’
