Epiphone has introduced a redesigned Prophecy Series of electric guitars, including the Victory FR, Les Paul Baritone, Les Paul, SG and Flying V models, aimed at players working in lower tunings and heavier genres. The guitars are available worldwide through authorized dealers, Gibson Garage locations and Epiphone.com, alongside a new companion apparel line.
Each model features a thermally aged, graphite-reinforced maple neck with a Hyperglide profile, a bound ebony fretboard, 24 stainless steel frets, and a pair of custom-voiced Fishman Fluence pickups developed specifically for the series. The pickups are mounted using a proprietary system the company calls DAPS, or Dual-Axis Pickup Stabilization, intended to keep pickups aligned without conventional mounting rings. Other shared features include locking Grover tuners, black nickel hardware and satin finishes.
Individual models vary in scale length and construction: the Victory FR uses a 25.5-inch scale with a Floyd Rose locking tremolo system, the Les Paul Baritone extends to 27 inches and ships with heavier-gauge strings for B-to-B tunings, and the standard Les Paul uses a 25.5-inch scale with a through-body Frequensator-inspired tailpiece. Epiphone product development manager Aljon Go and marketing manager Lewis McKinney III said the series was designed to give guitarists across metal and hardcore scenes a reliable, versatile instrument for live performance, according to the announcement.
